Barcelona Modernist Ceiling

One-of-a-kind piece

A unique artwork by the artist Juncosa, created from original fragments of an old Modernist ceiling in Barcelona, discovered abandoned in a sack of construction debris during renovation works.

The artist recovers and reinterprets these elements, assembling the preserved fragments and reconstructing the missing sections. In the newly created areas, he reproduces the original geometric patterns and ornamental motifs, transforming them through a vibrant colour palette inspired by the visual language of urban art.

The result creates a dialogue between past and present, where Modernist ornamentation and contemporary expression coexist within a single work. An artistic intervention that preserves the memory of the original piece while giving it a new identity.
