Leaves Diagonal

Juncosa · One-of-a-Kind Artwork

Inspired by the iconic pavement of Barcelona’s Diagonal Avenue, Hojas Diagonal reinterprets one of the most recognisable elements of the city’s urban landscape, transforming it into a contemporary work of art.

The artwork consists of two panels, positive and negative, conceived as complementary parts of a single composition. Their shapes fit together precisely, evoking the interplay between the geometry of the leaves, the rhythm they create, and the balance that defines the original pavement design.

Working on canvases mounted on wooden panels, the artist Juncosa develops his distinctive visual language, combining acrylic paint, gold leaf, spray paint, and splashes of colour. His artistic intervention brings a new dimension to the geometric forms, where texture, spontaneous gestures, and chromatic contrasts coexist in both tension and harmony.

The result is an artwork that connects the city’s visual memory with the expressive freedom of urban art. Tradition and contemporary expression come together in a composition that transforms an everyday element of public space into a unique piece to be contemplated and admired.
